Alarm Response

When alarms are enabled, an alarm is triggered when motion is
detected in accordance with the setup parameters for the
selected mode.
If the motion satisfies the Retention, Sensitivity, and
Adjacency criteria (page 10).
and
If the zone that detects motion is enabled (Zone
or
Enabled),
if Zone Crossed is enabled and the motion
crosses zones 1 and 2 in the direction enabled (page 11).
Guardian Mode
If the motion satisfies the View Obstruction, Retention,
and Sensitivity criteria (page 13).
When valid motion is detected by these criteria:
1. The front panel ALARM LED flashes, and the CH 1 and/or
CH 2 LED's flash indicating the channel(s) in alarm.
2. The audible alarm indication sounds if it is enabled (ON).
3. The alarm relay and the associated alarm logic closure
activate for the alarmed channel.
4. If the Numher of Monitors is set tc' I. the stvitcher output is
locked onto the alarmed channel. Alarms on both channels
cause both inputs to sequence at a two second delay rate.
Detection Trace
In Dynamic mode, if Detection Trace is enabled (ON), the
monitor displaying the alarmed channel shows a visual trace of
the detected motion. This trace gives the appearance of
following the detected motion on the screen.
Note:
If Detection Trace is enabled and either Zone Crossed is
enabled (page ll), the visual trace is displayed when
motion is detected within either zone 1 or 2, but an alarm is
not
generated until the motion crosses the border between
zone 1 and 2 (in the direction selected by the Zone Crossed
parameters).
Detect Indicator
In Guardian mode, if Detect Indicator is enabled (ON), the
monitor highlights the entire Detection Zone when a valid
change of the image is detected.
When alarms are disabled and Detection Trace/Indicator is
enabled, the visual trace of motion or indication is displayed
when motion is detected in accordance with the setup
parameters. hut the other alarm indications do not occur,

Alarm Clearance

The clearing of an alarm is accomplished by one of three
methods: Instant, Auto, or Manual. These clearance methods
remove the alarms from the system and return the system to
the mode that was operating prior to the alarm.
Instant
(INS) - To clear the alarm the detected motion must
cease. An alarm remains on its respective channel as long
as the motion remains active. Once the detected motion has
ceased the alarm is automatically removed.
Auto (AUTO)
cease. An alarm remains on its respective channel as long
as the motion remains active. 20 seconds after the detected
motion has stopped, the alarm is automatically removed.
This 20-second delay is intended to catch any momentary
type alarms.
Note:
Pressing the ALARM button during the 20-second
delay period does not clear the alarm.
Manual
(MAN) - The operator controls the clearance of an
alarm. An alarm remains on its respective channel until the
alarm is acknowledged by pressing the ALARM button.
To clear an alarm when the system is set to MAN Alarm
Clearance mode:
1. Press the channel button corresponding to the alarmed
channel (CHI or CH2).
2. Press the ALARM button.
If multiple alarms are present, both alarms must be cleared
separately. If the Number of Monitors is set to 1, the alarm is
cleared only on the channel currently displayed. Once one
alarm has been cleared the next alarmed input is displayed.
In any mode of operation, press the appropriate channel select
before
button
pressing the ALARM button.
