APPLICATION;
Figure A-l depicts a camera's view of a painting on a wall. The painting is in an area where
people will constantly move or stop in front of the painting to view it. The camera is mounted
at a 45" angle above the painting, so even if the painting is surrounded by a typical crowd of
people, a certain percentage of the painting will always be in view of the camera. The
detection system used must alert a security area when the painting is moved or blocked from
the camera view by a predetermined amount.

SETUP:
As shown in Figure A-2, the
AD1562 is placed in Guardian
Mode and a Detection Zone is
designed slightly inside the
image to be stored in memory.
View Obstruction is set to an
amount that permits a person(s)
to stand in front of the picture
without alarm (e.g., MED).

TYPICAL GUARDIAN MODE SCENARIO
OPERATION:
The person moving the picture in Figure A-4 does initiate an alarm. If the
DETECT INDICATOR is enabled. then the entire detection zone is
highlighted with white dots as shown, indicating that an alarm condition
has occured. In addition, the Alarm LED for the channel(s) in alarm
flashes, the audible alarm sounds if enabled, and the associated alarm
relays are activated.
