Setting Channel Detection Modes

Setting Channel Detection Modes is the last setup procedure of
the Dynamic Setup function. A Channel Detection Modes
menu is displayed following completion of the Channel
Dynamic Attributes procedures (page 10). This menu is used
to set the parameters which establish motion detection modes
and responses for the selected channel.

ZONE ENABLED

The ZONE ENABLED parameters determine if each Detection
Zone is enabled for standard motion detection. The default
setting for ZONE 1 ENABLED is YES, enabled, and for
ZONE 2 and 3 ENABLED is NO, disabled. If either ZONE 1
or 2 ENABLED is set to YES, both ZONE CROSSED
parameters are reset to NO. To change these settings:
1. Move the cursor to the ZONE ENABLED line for the
desired Detection Zone.
2. Press the LEFT or RIGHT button to select YES or NO.

ZONE CROSSED

The ZONE CROSSED parameters establish a direction of
motion detected between zones 1 and 2. For an alarm, motion
must be detected in the first zone, and then be detected in the
second zone immediately after motion stops in the first zone.
If motion exists simultaneously in both zones, border crossing
is not detected. The minimum size of each zone is four
adjacent cells in the direction of motion.
These parameters are mutually exclusive, only one can be set
to enabled (YES). If either is set to YES, both ZONE 1 or 2
ENABLED parameters are reset to NO. The default setting of
each ZONE CROSSED parameter is NO, border crossing
detection is disabled. To change these detection mode settings:
1. Move the cursor to the desired ZONE CROSSED line.
2. Press the LEFT or RIGHT button to select YES or NO.
Note:
ENABLED or ZONE CROSSED) must be enabled.

DETECTION TRACE

DETECTION TRACE is used to identify and follow detected
motion on the monitor screen. When motion is detected within
a cell, a white dot is displayed in that cell. When motion is no
longer detected, the intensity of the dot gradually fades,
through eight levels of intensity. When another cell detects
motion, this process repeats. The default setting of
DETECTION TRACE is ON (enabled). To change the setting:
2. Press the LEFT or RIGHT button to select ON or OFF.

BEEPER

The audio BEEPER provides an audible alarm when a motion
detection alarm is activated. When alarms are enabled and
valid motion is detected in a cell, the audible alarm indication
1
sounds if it is enabled (ON). The default BEEPER setting is
OFF, disabled. To change the setting:
1. Move the cursor to the AUDIO BEEPER line.
2. Press the LEFT or RIGHT button to select ON or OFF.
'AD' CONTACT NUMBER
The 'AD' CONTACT NUMBER specifies the relative Alarm
Contact Number, in the selected AD Group number, for alarm
codes transmitted to Matrix Controllers (see page 6 for
definition of Contact Groups and Numbers). The contact
number range is from 1 to 64. The default setting for 'AD'
CONTACT NUMBER is 1 for channel 1, and 2 for channel 2.
To change the number:
1. Move the cursor to the 'AD' CONTACT NUMBER line.
2. Press the LEFT or RIGHT button to decrement or
increment the value, from 1 to 64.
ALARM MODE
The ALARM MODE establishes the method of clearing the
motion detection alarms. ALARM MODE is set to Instant
(INS) - the alarm is cleared when the input is cleared, Auto
(AUTO) - the alarm is cleared 20 seconds after the alarm input
is cleared, or Manual (MAN) - the alarm is cleared using the
ALARM button. The default setting is Automatic (AUTO).
To change the ALARM MODE setting:
1. Move the cursor to the ALARM MODE line.
2. Press the LEFT or RIGHT button to cycle the value
between INS. AUTO. or MAN.
When all detection modes are set as desired, press the MENU
button to exit to the Main Menu, page 4. This concludes the
Dynamic Setup function.
