SET SYSTEM PARAMETERS

The SET SYSTEM PARAMETERS menu is used to set
general system operating parameters. When this setup option
is selected from the Main Menu, the following System
Parameters menu is displayed, showing the current parameter
settings. The default values are indicated in this illustration.

OPERATING MODE
OPERATING MODE can be set to either Dynamic or
Guardian. Dynamic mode provides selection of all detection
parameters for analysis of each video input frame. Guardian
mode sets parameters for comparing the input frames to a

parameters, pages 4 and 5; this will help in determining the
mode to select.
The default OPERATING MODE setting is Dynamic mode.
To change the mode:
2. Press the LEFT or RIGHT button to select Dynamic or
Guardian.
NUMBER OF CHANNELS
The DuoTect-C operates with either one or two channel inputs.
The NUMBER OF CHANNELS parameter is set to 1 or 2. If
set for one channel, the video input for CH 2 is disabled, and
the NUMBER OF MONITORS parameter is reset to 1. If set
for two channels, both inputs are enabled and the Number of
Monitors can be set to either 1 or 2.
The default setting for NUMBER OF CHANNELS is 2. To
change the number of channels:
1. Move the cursor to the NUMBER OF CHANNELS line.
2. Press the LEFT or RIGHT button to select 1 or 2.

NUMBER OF MONITORS
The NUMBER OF MONITORS parameter is set to 1 or 2 to
establish the mode of monitor operation. If set for one
monitor, the video signals from both input channels may be
either individually selected or sequenced to Output 1. In two
monitor operation, each video channel is routed separately to
the two respective video outputs. Note: If the NUMBER OF
CHANNELS parameter is set to 1, the NUMBER OF
MONITORS is automatically set to 1 and cannot be changed.
The default setting for NUMBER OF MONITORS is 1. To
change the number of monitors:
1. Move the cursor to the NUMBER OF MONITORS line.
2. Press the LEFT or RIGHT button to select 1 or 2.
DWELL TIME
When NUMBER OF MONITORS is set to 1, both video input
channels may be automatically sequenced to Output 1 by use
of the channel select buttons (see Video Output Selection, page
16). The DWELL TIME parameter specifies the delay time
for this video output sequence.
The default DWELL TIME is 2 seconds. To change the
DWELL TIME parameter:
1. Move the cursor to the DWELL TIME line.
2. Press the LEFT or RIGHT button to decrement or
increment the value, from 1 to 30, in seconds.

EDGE REJECTION

In certain surveillance scenes, objects which have vertical
edges with sharp video contrast can cause false alarms from
any jitter in the signal due to camera movement or video signal
instability. The EDGE REJECTION parameter allows the user
to reduce system sensitivity to vertical objects with sharp
changes in video contrast.
There are two setting for EDGE REJECTION: OFF, which is
normal video detection with no compensation for sharp vertical
edges, or ON, which provides edge rejection to reduce false
alarms from sharp contrasting vertical edges.
The default setting for EDGE REJECTION is ON, edge
rejection is enabled for vertical objects. To change EDGE
REJECTION:
1. Move the cursor to the EDGE REJECTION line.
2. Press the LEFT or RIGHT button to select either ON or
OFF.
