SET NEW PASSCODE

The Passcode feature provides security from unauthorized
access to the setup menus. As delivered, the system is set to a
default Passcode of "1324". To access the DuoTect-C menus,
this passcode must be entered before the Main Menu is
displayed (see page 4). When the Main Menu is displayed, a
menu function allows user change of the passcode.
The ENTER NEW PASSCODE menu function allows the
operator to set the Passcode to restrict access to the menus.
When this function is selected, the following screen is
displayed, prompting the operator to enter a new Passcode.
The numbers displayed at the bottom of the screen correspond
to the eight buttons on the front panel, as illustrated below.

To change the current (or default) Passcode:
1. Enter a new Passcode by pressing four panel buttons for
the new user's Passcode. As each number is entered, an
"X" is displayed for the entered number.
2. After the fourth number is entered, the system displays a
verification screen, as shown below.

3. Re-enter the same Passcode, by pressing the same four
panel buttons, to verify the passcode just entered.
4. If the Passcode is verified, the system saves the new
Passcode, displays a message "PASSCODE VERIFIED",
and returns to the Main Menu.
If the Passcode is not verified, the system displays the
message "VERIFICATION FAILURE, PASSCODE NOT
CHANGED" and returns to the Main Menu with the
original Passcode not changed.

entered, the display shows an "X" for each digit.
5. If the Passcode is entered correctly, the DuoTect-C system
is reset to the factory default conditions. The system then
continues with the Main Menu, as on page 4.
If the wrong Passcode is entered, or if the correct Passcode
is not entered within 30 seconds, the system displays the
message "AUTHORIZATION FAILURE" and exits from
the menu system. The system is not reset.

the DuoTect-C. If the user changes the passcode, via the
