TYPICAL MOTION DETECTION SCENARIOS
APPLICATION:
Figure A-5 depicts a camera's view of a warehouse where continuous deliveries occur. The possible movement in the
field of view of the camera will consist of delivery trucks on the road and personnel on the warehouse platforms. The
detection system used must alert a security area when the delivery truck is in motion but not alarm when personnel
move on the warehouse platform.
SETUP;
The AD1562 is placed in Dynamic Mode and the entire scene is filled with detection cells for one zone. Before values
are assigned to the vertical and horizontal adjacency, an analysis of the scene is required. In the field of view of the
camera the truck is four (4) detection cells high and ten (10) detection cells wide. Also the truck will move only in a
horizontal direction. The personnel, as seen by the camera. are three (3) detection cells high and one (1) detection cell
wide. The personnel will walk in any direction on the platform. Having analyzed the scene, the vertical adjacency is
set to 4. This setting will initiate an alarm condition if the truck or any other object four (4) adjacent cells high moves
at a realistic speed horizontally in the video scene. The horizontal adjacency is not utilized for this application and is
set to the maximum setting of seven (7).
OPERATION;
The truck now moving as shown in Figure A-6 does initiate an alarm. If the DETECT INDICATOR is enabled then
the detection cells where video change has occured
channel(s) in alarm flashes. the audible alarm sounds if enabled. and the associated alarm relays are activated. The
personnel in the video scene do not initiate an alarm even though they are moving in the video scene.
