SETUP

SETUP
The AD1562 DuoTect-C provides on-screen menus which are
used to set the operating parameters for the system and the
detection parameters for each video channel. The DuoTect-C
menu system is passcode protected.
All setup menus and selections are controlled by the buttons on
the DuoTect-C front panel. All menu displays and prompts are
displayed on the Monitor connected to video Output 1.
Note:
A monitor must be connected to Output 1 and a proper
video signal connected to Video Input 1 to view the menus.

Accessing the Menus

To access the setup menus, press the MENU button on the
front panel. When the MENU button is pressed:
2. If alarms were enabled, the unit changes to disarmed state
and the red ALARM LED is turned off.
3. The Passcode screen, illustrated below, is displayed. The
numbers displayed at the bottom of the screen correspond
to the eight buttons on the AD1562 panel, as indicated

below.
4. Enter the Passcode by pressing the four buttons which
correspond to the user's Passcode. As each number is

factory default passcode is "1324". This should
be changed by the user via Set New Passcode, page 15.
If the wrong Passcode is entered, or if the correct Passcode is
not entered within 30 seconds after the screen is displayed, the
system displays the message "AUTHORIZATION FAILURE"
and exits from the menu system.
When the proper Passcode is entered, the Main Menu,
illustrated at the top right, is displayed, listing the available
setup functions.
The DuoTect-C front panel buttons are used in all setup

General Menu Procedures

When any menu is displayed, one line or section is blinking,
indicating the menu cursor. The cursor blinks on the setup
function that can be selected or changed. Use the front panel
UP or DOWN buttons to move the cursor to the desired menu
line. When the desired function is blinking, press the MENU
button to advance to that menu or function.
All menu parameters are set in the same way: position the
cursor to the parameter name with the UP/DOWN buttons,
then change the value with the LEFT/RIGHT buttons.
When the desired changes have been made to the parameters,
press the ALARM button to save the displayed values and exit
the menu system. In Guardian mode, this action also saves the
current input video image to be used in the Guardian
comparison function.
Current Mode - Dynamic or Guardian
The DuoTect-C can operate in either Dynamic or Guardian
mode. Dynamic mode provides selection of all parameters for
analysis of each video input frame. Guardian mode sets
parameters for comparing the input frames to a stored, static
image for a specified level of change in the picture content.
Both channels of the DuoTect-C are set to the same mode.
The selected mode is shown in the CURRENT MODE line of
the Main Menu. The default mode is Dynamic. The current
mode may be changed via the Set System Parameters setup
function, page 7.
