Only use a shielded CAT5/6 cable that terminates in an M12X
connector to connect any LAN cable to the unit.

Make sure that the terminal pin assignments for the M12X plug(s)
comply with the accepted standard for M12X LAN/PoE
connectors.
Next, proceed to the steps in the following table:
3. Remove LAN port covers as follows:
• If connecting a Gigabit LAN/power-over-
Ethernet connection to the unit, remove
the protective plastic cover from the port
labelled LAN1/POE.
4. Wrap PTFE thread-sealing tape around the
threads of the exposed M12X connector(s) on
the unit. Use enough tape to ensure a watertight
seal.
5. Insert the correct M12X connector(s) leading
from the local LAN hardware into the LAN1/
POE port and, if needed, the LAN2 port.
6. Screw the threaded sleeves of the female
connectors onto the male connectors. Tighten
the connections by hand.
