CPU 410-5H Process Automation/CPU 410 SMART
System Manual, 09/2014, A5E32631667-AB
Failure and replacement of components during redundant operation
What to do?
Look for the cause of the error along the path
for which the IFMxF LEDs are lit on both
CPUs:
IFM1F: Top sync modules in CPU rack 0 or
rack1 or the corresponding synchronization
cable.
IFM2F: Bottom sync modules in CPU rack 0
or rack1 or the corresponding synchroniza-
tion cable.
First, check the fiber-optic cable.
If the fiber-optic cable is defective, replace it.
What to do?
Replace the synchronization module on the
CPU on which the LED Linkx-OK is still lit.
Plug in the fiber-optic cable connections of
the synchronization modules.
Start the standby CPU.
11.1 Failure and replacement of central components
How does the system react?
The IFMxF LEDs on both CPUs go out.
How does the system react?
The LEDs IFMxF go out.
If the LED should not go out, you must
replace the synchronization module on
the other CPU.
Both CPUs report the event in the diag-
nostic buffer
The system status now changes to Redun-
dant mode.
How does the system react?
Both CPUs report the event in the diagnostic
buffer and via OB 72.
Both CPUs become the master CPU and
remain in RUN mode.
The LEDs IFM1F and IFM2F are lit on both
CPUs.
