INSTALLATION
Installing the Mark VI CS-1A
Switch Operator and Vertical Shaft
Mount the switch operator to the user-furnished
structure as indicated on the erection drawing.
The structure supporting the switch must meet
the construction guidelines listed in S&C Data
Bulletin 712-60.
NOTICE
If more than one Mark VI CS-1A Switch
Operator is available at the installation
location, take care to select the one for this
particular installation.
Step 26
Unbolt the Mark VI CS-1A Switch Operator from
its shipping skid.
Step 27
Attach lifting slings around the output shaft
of the Mark VI CS-1A Switch Operator. See
Figure 24. Lift the operator into place on the
user-furnished mounting structure. Avoid
sudden starts and stops.
Step 28
Align the upper and lower fl anges on the rear of
the operator with the user-furnished mounting
surface provided on the structure. Fasten the
operator to the structure using the ⁵⁄₈-inch
holes provided on the mounting fl anges, as
shown in Figure 25. DO NOT remove the lifting
slings from the operator until the operator is
fully supported—using both fl anges—by the
structure.
Step 29
Remove the lifting slings from the output shaft
of the switch operator.
