Operation

5.1

Basic procedure

 When the appliance is switched on for the first time, the icon backlighting is activated on
the display. If no buttons have been pressed and the doors are closed, the backlighting
will be deactivated after 60 seconds.
 There are two areas in the operating field: one for adjusting the temperature and another
with a range of other functions.
 When a door is opened, the set target values will be displayed.
5.2

Switching on the appliance

Plug in the appliance at the mains.

– The appliance is switched on.
– The -18 °C display for the freezer compartment appears on the left.
– The 5 °C display for the refrigerator compartment appears on the right.
An appliance that is being used for the first time takes around 6 hours
(while empty) to reach its normal operating temperatures.
5.3

Setting the refrigerator compartment temperature

The temperature can be set between 2 °C and 8 °C.
Recommended temperature setting: 5 °C.
Press the "fridge" button.

– The refrigerator compartment temperature display on the right will drop by 1 °C.
Press the "fridge" button repeatedly until the required temperature is displayed.

– Unless it is adjusted again, the temperature setting will be applied.
– The temperature may not be reached for a couple of hours, depending on the setting.
The effective temperature may be temporarily different from the target value if the
door is open for an extended period or if warm foods have been placed inside.
5.4

Setting the freezer compartment temperature

The temperature can be set between - 24 °C and - 14 °C.
Recommended temperature setting: - 18 °C.
Press the "freezer" button.

– The freezer compartment temperature display on the left will drop by 1 °C.
Press the "freezer" button repeatedly until the required temperature is displayed.

– Unless it is adjusted again, the temperature setting will be applied.
– The temperature may not be reached for a couple of hours, depending on the setting.
The effective temperature may be temporarily different from the target value if the
door is open for an extended period or if warm foods have been placed inside.
5.5

Switching off the appliance

If you are taking the appliance out of operation, e.g. for repair work or disposal:
Disconnect the plug from the mains.

If the appliance is not going to be in use for an extended period, clear out and clean the

appliance, and leave the refrigerator compartment door and freezer compartment door open.
