3Installing the option devices

3.2 Installing and connecting the Easy-setup kit

Installation and connection steps for users who have purchased the Easy-setup kit are shown below.
Users who have not purchased the Easy-setup kit should refer to
The Easy-setup kit consists of the following equipment:
・ Earth leakage breaker / safety extension unit power supply box
・ EMG / Mode selector switch box
・ SDIO cables for the safety extension unit

3.2.1 Installing the Easy-setup kit

(1) Installing the Earth leakage breaker / safety extension unit power supply box

Position the Earth leakage breaker / safety extension unit power supply box so that it is within reach of the RIO
cable (1m).

(2) Installing the EMG / Mode selector switch box

Position the EMG / Mode selector switch box in an easily accessible place that is within 3m of the
robot controller.
Follow the steps below if you would like to fix the EMG / Mode selector switch box in place.

1) Fix the support bracket (included with the Easy-setup kit) in place using an M5 × 8 fixing screw.
2) Slot the lower tab on the EMG / Mode selector switch box into the support bracket.
