7.3 Leveling Wing

1. The center section height should be set before
adjusting the wing sections. Make sure the
tractor is completely shut down, the cutter is
completely lowered, and the cutter and tractor
are secured in position.
2. To set the inner wing section height, adjust the
1-1/4" threaded rod on the wing adjustment
assembly to level the wings of the cutter with
the center section.
3. To raise or lower wing, back off nut "A" first then
adjust nut "B". Retighten nut "A" and lock
washer after adjustment. To lower the wing,
retract
the
threaded
wing,extend the threaded rod.
4. After the wings are set at the desired position,
retighten jamnuts to maintain height settings

5. To set the outer wings, adjust the turnbuckle on
the wheel linkage to level the outer wings with
the inner wings.

7.4 Adjusting Counter Pressure Valve

It is normal for the wings to raise and lower slightly uneven. This is due to the nature of the flow divider. The
flow divider has a built in synchronization feature that will "re-phase" the wings at the end of the cylinder stroke.
To re-phase the wings, continue to supply oil to the cylinders until each cylinder has reached the end of its
stroke. Severely uneven wings can be corrected by adjusting the counter pressure valve. To even the wings,
lower the wings to the ground and adjust the counter pressure valve for the wing that lowers to the ground
faster than the other. Loosen the locknut and turn the adjusting screw clockwise 1/4 turn. Cycle the wings and
adjust the screw again if necessary. NEVER adjust the screw more than 1/4 turn at a time. Retighten the
locknut.
Use extreme caution when adjusting the counter pressure valve. Always make adjustments
when the wings are lowered to the ground.
If the wings are dropping too quickly this is a sign that the counter pressure valves are set at too low of
pressure. Lower the wings to the ground, adjust both counter pressure valves evenly by loosening the locknut,
and turning the screws counter-clockwise 1/4 turn. Cycle the cutter, if the wings are still dropping too quickly,
repeat the above adjustment procedure always adjusting the valves no more than 1/4 turn at a time. Retighten
the locknut.
