reached its stowed "UP" or deployed "DN" position. While the actuator is in transition, neither LED will

Keypad

The four-button keypad consists of the transmitter enable key (TXEN) and three user definable soft-
keys. The TXEN key is dedicated to that function, and is always active. The soft keys may be
configured by the user providing maximum flexibility for the specific installation or intended use. The
third line of the display will identify the currently selected soft-key functions above each key.
There are three basic types of soft-key functionality that can be assigned; toggle, immediate, and
menu.
1. Toggle includes relay and encryption or decryption functions which turn on or off the selected item
with each subsequent key press. When the selected item is turned on, it will backlight the legend
text on the bottom line of the display.
2. Immediate includes specific channel or preset recalls. The channel or preset will immediately be
selected when the key is pressed.
3. Menu functionality includes channel menu or preset menu and will launch the assigned sub-menu.
The keypad is also used during menu navigation. When entering any menu or sub-menu, the three
soft-keys change to menu navigation keys "EXIT", "CANCEL", and "OK". EXIT immediately quits the
menu system and returns to the normal display. Cancel backs out one level in the menu system. And
OK, accepts the current menu selection or advances into a sub-menu. When the menu system is
exited, the soft-key legends return to the user selected functions. See configuration section.

Rotary encoder

The dual rotary encoder with integral push-button is used for menu navigation. This should be a familiar
control to users of aviation GPS receivers and mapping devices. The outer knob of the rotary encoder
is used to rotate through menu groups in the Expert Menus. The inner knob is used to rotate through
menu items within the selected group. Once the user has navigated to the desired menu, the "OK" soft-
key or inner knob is pushed to open that menu item. From there, the outer and inner knobs allow
review and selection of various values and parameters in the selected item. Pressing OK will accept,
pressing cancel will back out, and pressing exit will completely exit the menu system.
