3 DISPLAYS, CONTROLS AND MENU NAVIGATION

Figure 16. Normal Display

The display is organized with the top line being double-height text, and the second and third lines being
single-height text. The top line (double-height) is reserved for Transmitter channel/frequency status. If a
channel plan has been loaded, the channel designator will show ahead of the frequency. If the selected
frequency is not one of the channels in the channel plan, the channel designator will show as AN
asterisk "*". If no channel plan has been loaded, a blank space will precede the transmitter frequency.
The second line is multi-functional, and will normally display the receiver channel/frequency information
and selected meter status if a receiver is installed in the system. If no receiver is installed in the
system, the second line may be blank or it may display other status information dependent on
configuration. If a warning or fault occurs, the fault explanation will appear on the second line
alternating with the normally displayed data. While navigating the menu system, the second line
displays the current menu navigation information (menu group, item selection, etc.).

The third line serves as a legend for the 4 keys below the display. The left-most key is the Transmitter
Enable key. It is always available in all modes, and will display the current status for the transmitter.
When the transmitter is off, the "TXEN" text will appear normal. When the transmitter is transmitting,
the text will appear inverted against a solidly lit block as shown above. The other text on the third line
displays the functions that the user has assigned to the three soft-keys. (See configuration section).
Some soft-key functions toggle the state of the selected item (relays, encryption, decryption, etc.) In
this case, the text will appear normal when the soft-key is toggled off, and backlit with inverted text
when the soft-key is toggled on. During menu navigation, the third line text above the 3 soft-keys will
change to navigation functions "EXIT", "CANCEL", and "OK". The third line will return to the normal
soft-key legends upon exiting the menu system.
LED indicators provide a visual status of the TAA-101 actuator and alert the user to any system alarms.
Actuator LEDs are activated by the upper or lower limit switches, indicating that the antenna has
