Waveform Creation
2
■ Instead of borrowing an external sound (sampling),
you can create one lull cycle of an original waveform.
Unlike sampled sounds, these original sounds are
very short, being only one full wave cycle in length.
Therefore, the normal procedure is to turn on the
LO O P ON/OFF muitisound parameter. This provides
a continuous waveform which you can then use much
like a sound source in any conventional analog syn
thesizer.
■ The DSS-1 lets you create sounds in two ways: by ad-
ditive harmonic synthesis, and by "hand drawing."

This is a digital re
cording of a continu
ous complex wave-
| form that can be re
produced as an audi
ble sound as is.
This is just one cycle
so you will not be
able to hear it as a
continous sound; it's
too short.
Turning on the loop
parameter lets you
hear it as a continu
ou s signal.
