Changing the Hydraulic
Fluid
Service Interval: Every 800 hours
If the fluid becomes contaminated, contact your
local Toro distributor because the system must be
flushed. Contaminated fluid looks milky or black when
compared to clean fluid.
1. Shut off the engine and raise the hood to allow
the engine and hydraulic fluid to cool.
2. Place a large drain pan under the fitting secured
to the bottom of the hydraulic-fluid reservoir
(Figure
75).

3. Disconnect the hose from the bottom of the
fitting and let the hydraulic fluid flow into the
drain pan.
4. Install the hose when hydraulic fluid stops
draining.
5. Fill the reservoir with approximately 45 L (12 US
gallons) of hydraulic fluid; refer to
Hydraulic-Fluid Level (page
Important:
Use only hydraulic fluids
specified. Other fluids could cause system
damage.
6. Install the reservoir cap.
7. Start the engine and use all the hydraulic
controls to distribute hydraulic fluid throughout
the system. Also check for leaks.
8. Shut off the engine.
9. Check the level of the hydraulic fluid and add
enough to raise level to the Full mark on the
dipstick.

Do not overfill.

Replacing the Hydraulic
Filters
The hydraulic system is equipped with a service
interval indicator
(Figure
