2-1. Notes on Servicing

. The laser diode is used as a light source of this unit.
Never allow the light source to emit light with the cabinet removed.
Otherwise, it may cause damage to eyes or skin.
. Do not remove the lens when the set is lighting.
Otherwise, it may cause damage to eyes or skin.
. Do not release the protection circuit with the cabinet removed.
Otherwise, the light source may suddenly start emitting light, causing damage to eyes or skin.
. In order to avoid inappropriate use of the laser diode, do not disassemble the laser source unit.
. When performing the adjustment that requires turning the power of this unit off and on, be sure to
perform the operation with the top cover assembly attached.

2-2. Procedure When Replacing the Parts

For obtaining the data released for service, contact your local Sony Sales Office/Service Center.

2-2-1. Unit Assembly

When replacing the unit assembly, perform the following procedure.
1. Write the data released for service using Quick Access3. (Refer to Section 2-6-8.)
2. Perform the laser luminance and luminance sensor adjustment. (Refer to Section 2-4.)
3. Check the white balance state, and perform the adjustment as required. (Refer to Section 2-3-3.)

2-2-2. Prism Block Assembly

When replacing the prism block assembly, perform the following procedure.
1. Perform the V COM adjustment. (Refer to Section 2-3-2.)
2. Write the Opt Unit data supplied with the prism block assembly and data released for service using
Quick Access3. (Refer to Section 2-6-6.)
3. Perform the laser luminance and luminance sensor adjustment. (Refer to Section 2-4.)
4. Check the white balance state, and perform the adjustment as required. (Refer to Section 2-3-3.)
