GB

INSTALLATION:

Incorrect installation may cause serious injury. For this reason, dur-
ing work phases, always strictly observe all installation instructions in
this manual.
Warnings:
• The "NEOXL" and "NEOXLH" series motors have been designed for the automa-
tion of shutters and awnings; any other use is improper and prohibited. The con-
tinuous operating cycle is as specified on the motor dataplate.
• When selecting the motor based on the application requirements, the nominal
torque and operating time shown in the rating plate must be considered.
• The minimum diameter of the tube on which the motor can be installed is 98mm
• The motor must be installed by qualified personnel in compliance with current
safety regulations.
• All unnecessary electrical cables must be removed before installation; all mech-
anisms not required for motorized operation must be disabled.
• Before installing the tubular motor, ensure that the part to be driven is in good
condition and slides without obstructions
• If the motor is installed at a height below 2.5mm, all moving parts of the motor
must be protected.
• The PVC power supply cable supplied with NEOXL and NEOXLH motors is ide-
al for internal installation; an insulated tube must be used to protect the cables
when installed outside, or the specific 05RN-F type cable can be requested.
• Never subject the tubular motor to crushing, impact, dropping or contact with liq-
uids of any type.

1) Product description

The tubular motor series "NEOXL"and "NEOXLH", Ø85 mm versions, are electric motors comprising a standard version and version with emergency manoeuvre device
(fig.2), complete with rpm reduction, terminating in a special shaft onto which the drive wheels can be fitted.
The motor is installed by inserting it inside the shutter, and is designed to move the shutter up or down. They are fitted with an internal electromechanical limit switch, which
when set correctly stops movement at the required position.
1.1) Emergency manoeuvre
Improper use can lead to serious injury
• Never use the emergency manoeuvre rod when the motor is running
• Never leave the rod inserted in the connection eye; attach only when necessary
• The maximum weight of the rod must never exceed 3Kg
2) Installation
Incorrect installation may cause serious injury
Proceed as follows to prepare the motor:
1. Ø94 adapter assembly: Insert wheel (A) on the outlet from the gearmotor
and secure the ring by means of screw (B) as shown in fig. 3.
2. assembly of other adapters: Insert wheel (E) onto the Ø94 ringnut as
shown in fig. 5 and then insert wheel (A) on the outlet from the gearmotor and
secure by means of screw (B) as shown in fig. 3.
2.1) Electrical connections
For motor connections, an omnipolar disconnecting device with a 3-
mm minimum distance between contacts must be provided (discon-
necting switch or plug and socket, etc.).
Carefully follow all the connection instructions. If you have any doubts
do not make experiments but consult the relevant technical specifica-
tions which are also available on the web site "www.niceforyou.com". An
incorrect connection may be dangerous and cause damage to the system.
The cable for electrical connections of the NEOXL motor has 4 wires: electric
ascent phase, electric descent phase, common (usually connected to Neutral) and
Earth (*) (equipotential bonding circuit protection)

3) Adjusting the limit switches

"NEOXL" envisages an electromechanical limiter system that shuts off power supply when the shutter reaches the opening and closing limits. To adjust these two posi-
tions and adapt the unit to specific conditions, simply establish the gearmotor configuration (fig.7/8/9/10) and then adjust the two screws controlling "up" (upper stop) and
"down" (lower stop).
Note: the product leaves the factory with pre-set limit switch settings at approx. 3 turns of the motor shaft.
Up adjustment:
a1. Activate the motor so that it lifts the shutter and wait for the motor to stop on
activation of the limit switch according to the current settings: this normally
occurs before the shutter reaches the required position.
Caution: if the motor continues to run when the required position is
reached, stop it immediately and invert the direction, by lowering the shutter
slightly. Then turn the adjustment screw (as established according to the
assembly configuration) by a few turns in the direction of the symbol - Lastly
resume the procedure from point a1.
a2. Then turn the adjustment screw a small amount at a time (identified in point a1)
in the direction of the symbol +, so that the shutter rises and reaches the
required stop position.
During adjustments, activate the motor (in ascent) so that on each adjustment
of the screw the shutter stops in the new position.
4) What to do if...
...the motor does not move even when an electric phase is powered:
1. check whether a thermal cut-out has tripped in this case, simply wait for the
motor to cool
2. verify presence of mains voltage and corresponding values measured with
respect the motor dataplate specifications, measuring between the electric
Common and Phase powered; lastly attempt to power up the opposite electric
phase.

USE OF THE PRODUCT:
In daily use of the product, always strictly observe these instruc-
tions to ensure personal safety.
Always store the manual in a safe place for future consultation.
• Never drill or fit screws on any section of the tube.
• Never use several drive inverters on the same motor or control of multiple motors
using the same inverter (fig.1).
• The control switch (not hold-to-run) must be visible on the application but posi-
tioned far from moving parts, inaccessible to the public and at a height of at least
1.5m.
• The control switch (hold-to-run) must be visible on the application but positioned
far from moving parts, at a height of at least 1.5m.
• In the event of damage to the cable, deliver the motor to a Nice service centre
for replacement
• For maintenance and repairs contact a qualified technician.
• After installation check that the mechanism is adjusted correctly and that the
emergency manoeuvre mechanism (if fitted) operates correctly
• Keep people away from the shutter when the latter is in motion.
• Do not allow children to play with the controls and keep all radio controls away
from their reach.
• Check the balancing springs (if any) and the wear of cables at frequent intervals.
The NEOXLH tubular motors are equipped with a manual emergency manoeuvre
device. The emergency manoeuvre enables the shutters to be manually manoeu-
vred in events such as power failures.
It is operated by means of the rod inserted in the relative connector, after which the
user pulls the rod down and turns it in the direction required to close or open the
shutter.
3. roller preparation: Cut a groove into the roller to enable insertion of the
ringnut key, according to the dimensions in outline drawing (C) (N.B. value "X"
should be based on the width of the ringnut key or ring ) and then drill 3 holes
at 120º for 3 M8 screws class 8.8, to enable insertion into wheel (A) to a depth
of at least 15 mm, see outline drawing (D) as shown in fig.4.
4. fixture of wheel with roller: Insert the assembled gearmotor inside the roller
until the groove on the roller is aligned with the key of the ringnut and then cou-
ple the wheel with the roller by means of the 3 M8 screws as shown in fig.6.

During installation and adjustment procedures, when the electrical connections are
not yet finalised, the motor can be controlled using a suitable "unit" designed to
withstand the specifications as stated on the motor dataplate.
Down adjustment:
c1. Activate the motor so that it lowers the shutter and wait for the
motor to stop on activation of the limit switch according to current set-
tings. This normally occurs before the shutter reaches the required position.
Caution: if the motor continues to run when the required position is
reached, stop it immediately and invert the direction, by raising the shutter
slightly. Then turn the adjustment screw (as established according to the
assembly configuration) by a few turns in the direction of the symbol - Lastly
resume the procedure from point c1.
c2. Then turn the adjustment screw a small amount at a time (identi-
fied in point c1) in the direction of the symbol +, so that the shut-
ter rises and reaches the required stop position.
During adjustments, activate the motor (in descent) so that on each adjust-
ment of the screw the shutter stops in the new position.
3. check whether an incorrect adjustment causes simultaneous activation of the
two limit switches; in this case turn the two adjustment screws through a few
turns clockwise (+)
4. check that the emergency manoeuvre rod is not engaged thus inhibiting motor
power supply.
On completion of the above checks, if the motor still does not run, this probably
indicates a serious fault
