Basic Operations

Before Printing

To maintain print quality, perform the following
inspection before starting work each day.
Checking the amount of ink remaining: (for the
SC-R5000 Series)
If ink is expended while printing, printing can be
resumed once the affected ink supply unit has been
replaced. However, if you replace it while printing,
colors may look different depending on how the ink
dries. If you know that the print job will be a large
one, we recommend that you use new ink supply units
to replace those that are running low before you start.
You can still use the removed ink supply unit in the
future until the ink supply unit is expended.
Ink level is shown by an icon.

Checking the amount of ink remaining: (for the
SC-R5000L Series)
When ink is expended, the ink supply automatically
switches to another ink supply unit of the same color.
Since printing continues as it is, replace the ink supply
unit for which ink is expended while there is still
enough ink remaining in the ink supply unit that is
currently operating. You cannot print if the amount of
ink remaining in both ink supply units of the same
color are expended.
Press the ink status icon area on the home screen to
check how much ink is remaining in the operational
and non-operational ink supply units.

Checking the nozzle check pattern
You can check the status of the nozzles by printing a
nozzle check pattern.
If you think that there is banding or unevenness in the
printed nozzle check pattern, perform Print Head
Cleaning.
