Installation

Please observe the following during installation:
• The mounting surfaces must be plane, torsionally rigid and free from vibrations.
• The mounting areas must be suited to absorb the forces and torques generated during operation.
• Ensure an unhindered ventilation.
• For versions with a fan, keep a minimum distance of 10 % from the outside diameter of the fan cover in
intake direction.

Mounting positions

The gearboxes can be mounted in any position.

Ventilation

No ventilation measures are required for the gearboxes.

Mounting

NOTICE
Damage to property due to improper mounting
Improper mounting can damage the bearings, housings or shafts.
▶ Avoid impacts and shocks.
▶ When fitting the pinion, couplings, and belt pulleys, only use suitable equipment and always use the
center hole in the shaft.
▶ In the case of a belt drive, tension the belt according to the manufacturer information.
▶ Only use suitable clamping assemblies to secure couplings, pulleys, gear wheels, sprockets, etc. on the
gearbox output shaft.
▶ Compensate minor inaccuracies by suitable flexible couplings.
▶ If transmission elements are mounted, make sure that they are properly balanced and cannot generate
any impermissible radial and axial forces.
For details of the permissible radial and axial forces, please refer to the project planning document.
▶ Make sure that the shaft sealing rings on the gearbox do not get soiled during installation or damaged by
sharp or pointed objects.
▶ Use screws with a property class of at least 8.8.
▶ Observe prescribed starting torques.
▶ Secure to prevent from working loose.
▶ In the case of an alternating load, we recommend that you apply an anaerobic curing adhesive between
the flange and mounting area.
