Software update

The software update is either performed using the
"ESI[tronic] Startcenter" DVD or "online".

The USB link and the power supply to the KTS 200
must not be interrupted during the software update.
The KTS 200 must not be operated. Standby mode
must also have been deactivated on the PC/Laptop.
The USB link with the KTS 200 is not to be discon-
nected and the KTS 200 is not to be re-operated
until the software update in the ESI[tronic] Startcen-
ter has been completed with "Finish".

The online help for the software update can be
found in the ESI[tronic] Startcenter software under
"Help >> Help".

If the KTS 200 software update was cancelled (e. g.
disconnection of USB link) or not installed in full,
recovery can be performed in the ESI[tronic] Start-
center under "Help >> Service" in the "Restore KTS
software" menu (refer to ESI[tronic] Startcenter
Online Help).
5.5.1 Software update using the ESI[tronic]
Startcenter DVD
ESI[tronic] Startcenter installation
1. Close all open applications.
2. Insert the "ESI[tronic] Startcenter" DVD.
3. Start "Windows Explorer".
4. Start 'D:\RBSETUP.EXE' (D = DVD drive letter).
 Set-up is started.
 The following message appears with WIN 7:
An unidentified program is attempting
to access the computer.
5. Confirm the message with "Yes".
6. Heed the information on the screen and follow the
instructions.

Restart the PC/Laptop to successfully conclude
installation.
7. License KTS 200 (if not already licensed).

KTS ��� software update
1. Disconnect the power supply unit and the USB con-
necting cable at the KTS 200.
2. Start the "ESI[tronic] Startcenter".
3. Re-establish the voltage supply to the KTS 200 via
the power supply unit.
 The KTS 200 starts up.
 The "Vehicle identification" dialog window appears.
4. Connect the KTS 200 to a PC/Laptop via the USB
connecting cable.
5. ESI[tronic] Startcenter: Open "KTS ��� >> Device
information".
6. Select an available update.
 If no "available update" is displayed, the KTS 200
already has the latest software and need not there-
fore be updated.
7. Select <Update>.

The system software is installed on the KTS 200.

Online software update

Software updates for ESI[tronic] Startcenter and/or the
KTS 200 module can be obtained from the Bosch down-
load server and installed.

A PC/Laptop with DSL internet access is required for
online updating.

The ESI[tronic] Startcenter DVD 1 (annual basic ver-
sion) must be installed using the "Software update
by way of DVD" function.
i
Software update is not possible with an OTP (One
Time Purchase) licence agreement.
Downloading ESI[tronic] Startcenter software update
1. Start "ESI[tronic] Startcenter".
2. Open the "Extras >> Online updates" input window.
3. Enter the customer number and password and
select <Continue>.
 The link with the Bosch download server is esta-
blished.

If "Login" is not possible, check your proxy settings
under "Settings >> User settings".
4. Confirm the message A new version is
