Piston Rings

– Remove the piston - see 5.6.1.
Note:
To avoid carbon residue falling into
the crankcase, always remove the
piston to install the piston rings and
clean the ring grooves
 Take the piston rings (arrows) off
the piston.
– Use a piece of old piston ring to
scrape the grooves clean.
 Install the new piston rings in the
grooves so that the radii face
upward.
– Install the piston - see 5.6.2.

Crankcase

5.8.1
Removing the Crankshaft
– Remove the shroud - see 5.1.
– Remove the air filter - see 9.1.
– Remove the throttle cable and
connectors from the control
handle - see 8.2.
Note:
Do not remove the muffler, ignition
module, components of mixture
supply system and the carburetor
from the cylinder.
 Disconnect the fuel hoses
(arrows) from the carburetor and
plug them. Clean area around
carburetor so that no dirt can fall
into crankcase.

 Take out cylinder mounting
screws (1) and lift away cylinder
(2) complete with attached
components.

 Place wooden assembly block
1108 893 4800 (2) under the
piston and rest piston (1) on it.
Note:
The wooden assembly block is used
to block the crankshaft for removal
of the cutch, flywheel and starter
cup.
– Remove rewind starter and
starter cup from the crankshaft -
see 7.2 and 7.3.
– Remove complete clutch - see
4.1.

 Release and unscrew nut (2)
from flywheel (1).
