5.6.2 Installing the XVME-956/101
The XVME-956/101 is shipped with a special mylar insulator that protects the battery connections.
The installation of the XVME-956/101 is similar to that of a Type B, which is explained in Section
1.3.4, with the exception of the mylar insulator. Follow these steps to secure the XVME-956/101
mylar insulator.
1. S e c u r e the XVME-956/101 mylar insulator using nylon screws at position 4 (shown in Figure 5-
5).
2. P l a c e the XVME-956/101 module on the XVME-956/xx making sure the pins on the XVME-
956/xx are aligned with the sockets on the XVME-956/101.
3. C o n n e c t the battery cable from the front panel to the appropriate connector on the XVME-
956/101. Next, secure the front panel to the XVME-956/xx using the two screws labeled 2 in
Figure 5-5.

4. F o l d the mylar insulator back over the XVME-956/10I and secure it to the XVME-956/101with
the screws labeled 3 in Figure 5-5.
5. S e c u r e the mylar insulator and front panel battery assembly using screws labeled 1 in Figure 5-5.
Figure 5-5 shows the mylar insulator and front panel assembly of the XVME-956/101 memory
expansion module.
