Chapter 1 - Introduction
Never attempt installing or removing any boards without first turning off
the power to the bus and all related external power supplied.
Procedure
1. D i s c o n n e c t all power sources.
2. I f the XVME-PC/AT module is currently installed in the VME backplane, make sure one card
cage slot to the right of the Xycom XVME-PC/AT board is clear and accessible, and remove
the processor module by gently pulling on it until it slides out of the chassis.
3. R e m o v e and discard the connector P2 screw and nut closest to the bottom corner of the CPU
module. Refer to Figure 1-3.
4. A t t a c h the long female/female standoff to the solder side of the XVME-956/12 module, as
illustrated in Figure 1-3, using a short screw.
5. A t t a c h the short female/female standoff to the solder side of the XVME-956/12 module, as
illustrated in Figure 1-3, using a short screw.
Figure 1-3 shows the XVME-956/12 installation onto a CPU.
