1.3.4 Installing Type B Module Assembly to XVME-956/3
Use the following steps to install a Xycom I/O type B Module:
1. I n s t a l l the mylar shield, which came with the XVME-956/3 assembly, with the two nylon screws
labeled "5". A l l o w the mylar shield to fold open. Refer to Figure 1-4.
2. C o n n e c t the cables from the front panel assembly, (which was shipped with the Xycom I/O
module). Remove the 32 x 2 pin connector from the bag and plug into the module.

3. L a y the XVME-PC/AT down on a rigid flat surface. A l i g n the module's pins with the "PAT1"
and PXT1 connector on the CPU.
4. P r e s s down evenly until the module makes contact with the standoffs.
5. S e c u r e the front panel by using the four nylon screws labeled "7".
6. P u l l the mylar shield over the board and install the remaining nylon screws labeled "6".

I/O expansion modules must be connected to the XVME-PC/AT CPU using
the 32x2 and 20x2 pin connector supplied with the XVME-956/3. Some I/O
expansion modules contain connectors with pins t o connect the I / O
expansion module to the XVME-PC/AT CPU. D O NOT use these pins to
connect the I/O expansion module to the XVME-PC/AT CPU. Use of
these pins to connect the module will result in damage to the I / O
expansion module and the CPU.
