correctly set in the DCS
The fieldbus is experiencing a large
amount of noise.
Missing terminators on the bus,
incorrect terminator placement or
extra terminators.
Not in configuration mode.
You have attempted to write a value
outside the valid range.
The present mode does not allow write

Remedy
Correct wiring between XMT1000
and spur device coupler.
Supply proper voltage
Correct address detection range -
default address for XMT1000 is 0x17
Using an oscilloscope or another
fieldbus health monitor to check the
waveform on the fieldbus.
Refer to FOUNDATION Fieldbus
specifications for a full discussion of
terminator requirements.
Enter correct "Admin" password in
Resource block - verify "S1 -
configuration mode" appears on
XMT1000 UI
Check the setting range of parameters.
Change the target mode.
Contact factory for write protect
jumper configuration
Change the target mode of the
Resource Block to Auto.
Set the schedules using a
configuration tool.
Change the target mode of the
transducer block to Auto.
Verify the XMT1000 is powered on
and measuring properly
Check Options menu on XMT1000 UI
