2.4. Configuring the Module

There are six steps to configuring the module and
getting it operational on a Profibus network:

1. Setting the module option switches

2. Setting the output state on communication
loss (freeze jumper)
3. Setting software parameters in WorkShop or
Com Profibus
4. Configuring the remote base in in WorkShop
or Com Profibus
5. Exporting a binary configuration file (Com
Profibus only)
6. Merging the configuration file into the
Profibus master (Com Profibus only)
For detailed information on using Com Profibus to
configure a remote base with the 2500-RBC, refer to
Chapter 3.
Setting the Module Option Switches
Switches on the 2500-RBC are used to select the
following
Serial Port Baud Rate
Profibus Address
Display mode
Figure 2 indicates the location of the option switches and freeze jumper. The remainder of this
section describes the function of the individual switches.
SW1 through SW3 – Serial Port Baud Rate.
Switches 1-3 are used for setting the baud rate of the serial port. Serial port operations are not
currently implemented in the product.
