System Might Shut Down Due to a Fan Module Failure

Bug ID 15725346
After some fan module failures, you can replace the fan module without shutting down the
server. However, once you remove the failed fan module, you must insert the replacement fan
module within 60 seconds. Otherwise the system shuts down with a fan column fail fault.
Other more severe fan module failures cause the system to automatically shut down and register
a fan column fail fault, which occurs when both fans in a counter-rotating pair go below a
minimum speed.
