3e sure to balance the wheel after
-~pairing a puncture or replacing the
ire. Proper wheel balance is impor-
:ant to avoid variable wheel-to-road
contact,
and to avoid uneven tire
Near.
A
WARNING
An improperly repaired, installed
or balanced tire can cause loss of
control or shorten tire life.
• Ask your SUZUKI dealer or a
qualified mechanic to perform
tire repair, replacement, and bal-
ancing because proper tools
and experience are required.
• Install tires according to the
rotation
direction
shown
by
mark on the sidewall of each
tire.
A
WARNING
Failure to follow these instruc-
tions about tubeless tires may
result in an accident due to tire
failure. Tubeless tires require dif-
ferent service procedures than
tube tires.
• ~ubeless tires require an air-
tight seal between the tire bead
and wheel rim. Special tire irons
~nd rill'! protectors or a special-
ized
tire
mounting
machine
must be used for removing and
installing tires to prevent tire or
rim damage which could result
in an air leak.
• Repair punctures in tubeless
tires by removing the tire and
applying an internal patch.
• Do not use an external repair
plug to repair a puncture since
the plug may work loose as a
result of the cornering forces
experienced by a motorcycle
tire.
• After repairing a tire, do not
exceed 80 km/h (50 mph) for the
first 24 hours,
130
km/h
(80
mph) thereafter. This is to avoid
excessive heat build-up which
could result in a tire repair fail-
ure and tire deflation.
• ~eplac~ the tire if it is punctured
m th~ sidewall area, or if a punc-
ture m the tread area is larger
than 6 mm (3/16 in). These punc-
tures cannot be repaired ade-
quately.
