Useful notes for cooking

In the following table you will find some tips for
solving problems while using the oven:
Faults
The upper crust is dark and the lower
part too pale.
The lower part is dark and the upper
crust too pale.
The outside is too cooked and the
inside not cooked enough.
The outside is too dry even though of
the right color.
• During operation, the oven glass door and adjacent parts of the appliance become hot.
Make sure, therefore, that children do not touch the appliance.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
Energy saving tips
• If possible, use dark, black finished or silicone-coated enamelled tins, because they absorb the oven heat particu-
larly well.
• Only preheat the oven if this is specified in the recipe or in the tables.
• Heating the empty oven requires a lot of energy. Therefore, energy can be saved by baking several dishes one after
the other, because the residual heat is used optimally.
• Switch off the oven about 10 minutes before the end of longer cooking times to use the residual heat to finish cooking.
Causes
• Not enough heat from the bottom
• Excessive heat from the top

• Too high temperature
• Too low temperature
Remedies
• Use deeper cake tins.
• Lower the temperature.
• Put the food to be cooked on a
lower shelf.
• Use lower side tins.
• Lower the temperature.
• Put the food to be cooked on a
higher shelf.
• Lower the temperature and increa-
se the cooking time.
• Increase the temperature and redu-
ce the cooking time.
