OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE

For complete operation and maintenance information for the GS01 gas detector,
refer to the specific user manual for this field device [RD 1].
Note that the GS01 may only be used with the GasSecure battery pack. The
detector is powered up by pushing the battery pack in place. Upon power-up, a 30
seconds stabilization time is required before the instrument will measure gas.
Moreover, please allow an additional 5-20 minutes until the GS01 device has
established communication with the wireless access point (gateway).
The GS01 gas detector is factory calibrated and neither field calibration nor
zeroing is required.
Periodic visual inspection of the GS01 gas detector and in particular its weather
cap is recommended to confirm that no external blockage of the gas/vapour path
into the measuring cell exists, e.g. debris, trash, snow, mud, external equipment,
etc. Corrective action shall include removal of such impediments should they exist.
The GS01 is a smart gas detector cyclically performing internal diagnostics on its
gas detection function. The GS01 will update the data integrity status upon
detection of faults.
Faulty detectors shall be returned to GasSecure for repair.
The only allowed field repair is replacement of the weather cap, battery cap, or
battery pack, cleaning the perforated sheet of the ultrasonic sensor, and cleaning
of the window and/or mirror.
Any other field repair is not supported and the GS01 firmware cannot be changed
by the user.
