If the customer's application has to initiate a reset of the UNIGATE
also be connected with a reset output of the customer's application instead of connecting it with
VCC. Here all specifications of the reset signal, mentioned in chapter 3.2 have to be kept. The
reset-impulse is supposed to last at least 10 ms.
3.2.8
Error-LED
A red LED can be connected to this line (see chapter 3.6).
The Error-LED comes on when an error or system error occurs.
An error can be triggered by the command:
Set (Errorcode, 5);
(the 5 is only an example).
It can only be cleared by setting 0. (Set (Errorcode, 0);).
A system error can be triggered by the command:
Set (SystemError, 7);
or by a real system error as described in chapter "Error handling at UNIGATE® IC" on page 35.
3.2.9
LED-LinkAct (Out)
A green LED can be connected to that wire (see chapter 3.6).
This LED is directly controlled by the EtherCAT
located in a working net (link pulses are received) and flickers in case of network data traffic (acti-
vity). Only the prescribed LED may be connected to that pin (11) and no other wiring, since this
may result in malfunctions of the UNIGATE
3.2.10 LED-LinkAct (In)
A green LED can be connected to that wire (see chapter 3.6).
This LED is directly controlled by the EtherCAT
located in a working net (link pulses are received) and flickers in case of network data traffic (acti-
vity). Only the prescribed LED may be connected to that pin (22) and no other wiring, since this
may result in malfunctions of the UNIGATE
3.2.11 LED-EC
A green LED can be connected to this line (see chapter 3.6). It is glowing in the state of "Ethernet
ok, data exchange active" and in the state "Waiting for link connection" it is flashing.
3.2.12 -Config Mode
If the pin has the level GND, then the IC starts in the configuration mode.
3.2.13 DbgTX, DbgRx
They are transmission line and receive line as well of the IC's Debug-interface. For the function
description of the Debug-interface see chapter 6 on page 27.
3.2.14 TE
The transmit enable signal allows the connection of RS485 drivers to the IC's serial interface.
The signal is set to VCC whenever the IC sends via the line TX.
3.2.15 TX, RX
Transmission and receive line of the serial interface. This interface is programmable in accor-
dance with the description in chapter 4 on page 24.
