7012
INSTRUCTIONS
PRELIMINARY INFORMATION
7D12 Features
The 7012 is an analog to digital converter for use with
any 7000·series oscilloscope mainframe that contains read ·
out. Several plug·in modules are ava ilable for use wi th the
7012. Depending upon the plug· in module used, the 7012
can supp ly up
to
a 4· 1/2 digit display w ith a full sca le
reading of 20000 on the mainframe CRT, When not used,
the most significant digit of the d isplay is suppressed.
Automatic polarity and overflow indicators are also con·
tained in the 70 12. The AI D Converter can be triggered

internally by the plug·in module, manually by a front·panel

Period Timer. The 7012 also contains a vertical display
amplifier that displays the signal applied
to
the mooule, and
a gate display amplif ier that displays a representation of the
70 12 internal gate signal.
Since the 7012 function is dictated by the module
installed, instructions for operating the 7012 are located in
the Operating Instructions for each module (i.e., Ml, M2,
or M3) . A brief description of the 7012 Front·Panel
Controls and Connectors is shown in Fig. 1·2,
