ARCHIVING OF SLIDES
The slides to be archived are inserted in a slide-holder cartridge. The operator picks up
the slide-holder cartridge and inserts it into the relative housing of the FINDER.
The FINDER checks if there is a rack that can be filled. If there is, then the FINDER is
ready to go, otherwise it signals the absence of a rack or a full rack.
The FINDER positions the cartridge in correspondence of the first free compartment
on the rack, picks up the slide using an electronically controlled pincer, reads the
barcode on the slide and, if compliant, moves it from the cartridge into the free
compartment in the rack. If the process is successful, the "slide code" + "rack code" +
"position in the rack" are transferred to the database on the local server, which in turn
synchronises them with the database in cloud and transmits them to the LIS
management system.
