The manufacturer cannot be held liable for any damage resulting from improper use
of the device.
The equipment described in this manual is designed and built with safety as an
essential objective; in particular, each specimen is tested to verify its compliance with
the safety requirements established by the EN 60601-1 standard for medical devices.
In order to maintain the correct use conditions of the device and guarantee its safe
operation, it is necessary to carefully read all the warnings and decode all the symbols
indicated on the previous and following pages.
Despite having adopted the rules of "good construction technique" and having
complied with the legislative provisions governing the manufacture and trade of the
product, there are still "residual risks" which, due to the nature of the device itself, it
was not possible to eliminate.
These risks include the following:
• Residual risk of electrocution, this risk exists if it is necessary to operate
electrical and/or electronic devices in the presence of voltage as non-
compliance can cause serious injury or death;
• Residual risk of crushing of limbs, this risk exists if personnel accidently
come in contact with the parts during handling and/or positioning as failure to
pay attention can cause serious injury or death;
• Residual risk of fire, this risk exists in the event of contact accidentally made
with the energised equipment.
Operators must be properly trained and qualified before using the device.
In order to achieve accurate and consistent results it is indispensable for the operating
personnel to be fully trained on the correct use.
The assessment of the quality and the result obtained of the slide archiving or retrieval
process is the responsibility of the operator.
