The operator continues to load full racks and empty cartridges for holding the slides to
be retrieved into the appropriate housings of the FINDER, following the suggestions
indicated by the system, which provides the sequence of the racks to be loaded and
when to change the cartridge according to the groupings decided during the system
set-up phase.
The cartridges with the retrieved slides are taken by the operator to the person
requesting them who then takes charge of them by means of the usual barcode
identification procedure, in this way ending the retrieval procedure.
When the operator accepting the slide archiving or retrieval mission goes to the
FINDER, he/she must first and foremost be recognised by the FINDER.
In order to be recognised the operator must bring the smartphone provided in the
vicinity of the FINDER display as in this case it acts as an identification badge.
Thanks to the system software the FINDER already knows which operation must be
completed and which operator has taken charge of the same. Therefore, the FINDER
only begins operations if the correct operator's smartphone is approached. Otherwise
the FINDER remains idle and inaccessible.
When the recognition process is successful, the FINDER becomes accessible to the
operator to perform the slide archiving or retrieval operations.
