The task of the FINDER during the archiving phase is that of inserting the slides into a
rack in a secure and traceable manner.
The archiving procedure begins when an appropriately trained operator accepts an
archiving mission, which is sent to him/her on the smartphone supplied by a manager
operating on the terminal connected to the system server.
The operator collects the cartridges filled with the slides and takes them in the area
where the FINDER is located. Each cartridge can hold up to 20 slides.
The operator authenticates him/herself on the FINDER display in order to make it
operational. Without this authentication the FINDER will not move.
After being authenticated, the operator takes care of loading the full cartridge in the
appropriate housings of the FINDER.
Once the cartridge has been loaded, the operator clicks the start button on the FINDER
display and the device starts to transfer the slides from the cartridge onto the rack.
Once the transfer is complete, the FINDER is ready to receive the next full cartridges
until the rack has been completely filled.
Once the rack is filled, the FINDER stops and waits for the operator to replace the full
rack with the empty one.
The system software checks all the devices and all the operations so that the operator
is always notified of the next operations to be performed and receives the correct
instructions to help him/her carry them out.
The full rack retrieved from the FINDER must then be transferred by the operator into
the ARKIVE cabinet indicated to him/her on the smartphone.
