    1 Introduction Congratulations on your purchase of the NORAC UC5 Spray Height Control System. To ensure all stainless steel hardware does not gall or seize apply a light coating of the supplied Permatex Anti-seize grease to all threaded parts upon installation.

    5 Target Installation and Alignment NOTE: It is very important that the rods be installed on the right hand side of the sprayer. 1. Ensure the sprayer chassis and booms are leveled and the center section is approximately 4 feet above the ground. A ladder or step will be required for this part of the installation.   • Page 12 2. Remove the rubber bumpers on both ends of the roll frame (Figure 4). 3. Assemble the roll sensor mounting bracket as shown in Figure 6. Figure 6: Roll Sensor Mounting Bracket 4. Install the roll sensor bracket on the T-shaped black intermediate frame (Figure 4). The sensor should be mounted between the parallel lift arms and the wheel in a position that will not interfere with folding.
  • Page 13 7. Adjust the targets and sensor bracket using a level or a plumb line. Ensure the sprayer is level and the booms are level when installing the roll targets. The spring target must be aligned on the centerline of the sensor. The Frame target must be aligned ½" to the left side of the centerline.

    Component failure due to oil contamination is not covered under the NORAC UC5 system warranty. It is recommended that a qualified technician perform the hydraulic installation.
  • Page 15 3. Coat the four o-rings in hydraulic oil and install them into the expansion block. Ensure the o-rings are seated properly. 4.   • Page 17 3. In some cases, the bracket has failed at the weld shown in Figure 14. It is recommended that all sprayers with roll control add weld to the existing bracket to prevent failure.   • Page 18 3. Attach the 6FORXR-6MORT (F10) fitting to the pressure and tank ports on the NORAC valve block. 4. Connect hose H78 to fitting F10 on the tank port of the NORAC valve and H71 to fitting F10 on the pressure port.
  • Page 19 6. Route the secondary tank line (H78) to the inlet on the sprayer’s hydraulic in-line filter and use a 6FORXR-6MORT tee fitting (F10) to tee it in (Figure 17).

  • Page 21 7. Install hoses H72 to the roll cylinder that was previously installed. Route the hoses to the NORAC valve block. 8. Connect the hose attached to the rod end of the cylinder to the “B” port of the expansion block.

    7 and 8. 2. Connect the 2 pin connector on cables C10 into positions 7 and 8 on the valve module. Connect the other end of cables C10 to the 2 pin connectors on the NORAC expansion block (V70).

    8 Software Setup 1. Start up your sprayer and test the sprayer’s functionality. The display terminal does not need to be powered on for the original boom function switches to operate. Unfold the booms and raise/lower each boom and the main section. Confirm that the cabling and hoses are agreeable to the entire range of motion.

    9 System Maintenance For good performance in corners, when driving over terraces or through ditches at an angle, or in hard steer situations it is important to do the following: 1. The Teflon sliding pads on the boom must not grab in dynamic situations (corners, terraces etc).
