HOW TO HANDLE A DISKETTE
Diskettes are inexpensive, but the information recorded on them is
often very valuable and, sometimes, irreplaceable. It is, therefore,
important that you handle diskettes with great care. If you observe
the following rules and guidelines, your diskettes should prove dura-
ble and reliable.

Never use anything but a felt-tipped pen to label a
diskette.
Never store a diskette in the vicinity of an item that
creates a magnetic field (e.g., electronic calculator,
telephone, dictating machine, video monitor,

Never use a diskette that has had any substance spilled on
it.
Never bend or fold a diskette.
Always store a diskette upright. Do not leave it lying

Always keep a diskette in its paper envelope when it is
not in use.
Always store diskettes in a cool, dry, dust-free place.
