7. To stop using BT Broadband Talk, click
the BT Broadband Talk icon again. It
will change from Selected to Available.
Or switch off Wi-Fi altogether.
IMPORTANT – Making sure you are using
the right network to make a call.
You must be connected to a Wi-Fi network,
with BT Broadband Talk at 'Selected', to take
advantage of the BT Broadband Talk calling rates.
When using BT Broadband Talk, the internet
calling icon
will appear at the top of the
screen and the BT Broadband Talk icon
show as Selected (and not 'Available'). If BT
Broadband Talk is not Selected when making
the call, standard mobile charges will apply.
When a dialled number is connecting, the green
dialling screen will display the dialled number and,
above it, the network the call is carried over.
If it says 'BT' it means the call is going over the
UK mobile network and you will be using minutes
from your inclusive UK bundle. If the network is
Wi-Fi it will say 'BT Broadband Talk' and a more
metallic/higher pitched connection tone will sound.
If you are outside the UK and the name of the
local mobile operator appears above the dialled
number, it means the call will be charged at
mobile roaming rates which will be charged
separately at a potentially high cost per
minute. See page 31 for further information
on using your BT ToGo outside the UK.
