Settings
To amend the Anti-Virus settings select Menu
then 2 Settings.
Any changes to the Anti-Virus settings will not take
effect until the Save menu item is selected. Cancel
will undo any changes that were made.
AV Status
Any files or programs copied, downloaded, moved,
renamed, or modified on the phone will be scanned
for viruses if the AV Status is set to "On" (default).
If a virus is detected, BT Mobile Security Anti-
Virus will alert you and gives the option to delete
or ignore the infected file. Information about
detections can be found in the virus log. Card scans
are also performed by the Monitor, which is always
running in the background of the phone.
To turn the monitor off, change the AV Status to
"Off" . Please be aware that if you turn off the Anti-
Virus your phone will not be protected.

Scan memory cards on insert
If this box is checked, memory cards will be scanned
when inserted. A pop-up box will alert you when
a scan commences and, if viruses are found, will
display a list of them when the scan is complete.
Auto update polling (virus definitions)
This menu option lists a number of periods from 1
day (default) to three weeks, plus a "never" option.
This is the interval at which BT Mobile Security
Anti-Virus will check for updates. The interval is
determined from the last successful update, as
shown on the main Anti-Virus display. If 'never' is
selected the software will not attempt to update
itself. To perform a manual Update between
automatic updates select Update Now from the
Anti-Virus display.
Firewall
The Firewall protects against unauthorised
intrusions, attempts to auto-download software
etc. There is no need to amend settings – the
Firewall is always there in the background and
automatic updates will happen in the same way
as for Anti-Virus.
