AVIATION RECORDERS
COMPONENT MAINTENANCE MANUAL
Model FA5000
IN
Ground logic applied to this pin (or loss of aircraft
power, whichever occurs first) activates a CV/FDR
internal timer that stops the recorder from record
ing after 10 minutes. Removal of the ground logic
when the recorder is powered will cause the re
corder to begin recording within 250 ms. Informa
tion recorded prior to the cessation of recording is
preserved.
ARINC 7574. Shunt discrete input; ARINC 573
compliant.
GND = STOP ALL RECORDING (WITHIN 10
MIN.)
OPEN = START ALL RECORDING
IN
Channel 2 audio differential input signal low; 150
Hz to 3.5 kHz bandwidth, 3V RMS maximum. Im
pedance 5K ohm minimum.
IN
Channel 2 audio differential input signal high; 150
Hz to 3.5 kHz bandwidth, 3V RMS maximum. Im
pedance 5K ohm minimum.
OUT
BITE status output of the voice recording section.
Shunt discrete output at standard ground indicates
correct CVR operational status. Functional and
signal characteristics are ARINC 757 compliant.
Open drain circuit sinks 100 milliamps maximum
with less than 0.5 volts out.
GND = NO CVR FAULT
OPEN = CVR FAULT (BITE status failure, CVR
not installed, or CVR not powered)
OUT
BITE status output of the data recording section.
Shunt discrete output at standard ground indicates
correct FDR operational status. Functional and
signal characteristics are ARINC 757 compliant.
Open drain circuit sinks 100 milliamps maximum
with less than 0.5 volts out.
GND = NO FDR FAULT
OPEN = FDR FAULT (BITE status failure, FDR
not installed, or FDR not powered)
OUT
Status output of the FDR system. Shunt discrete
OPEN/GND relay output. Standard ground indic
ates an FDR nonoperational status.
GND = FAULT/NO POWER
OPEN = STATUS GOOD
Chassis ground galvanically isolated from signal
and power returns.
