Product Overview
The Cisco ME1200 NID Series of product is built and optimized for the Gigabit Ethernet Demarcation. It
provides a standard based demarcation as defined by the MEF ELINE and ELAN services with advanced
clocking and Quality of Services. This chapter provides a functional overview of the Cisco ME1200 NID.

Setting Up the Switch

This document covers switch management options, basic rack-mounting procedures, port and module
connections, power connection procedures, and troubleshooting.

Switch Models

The Cisco ME1200 NID switches have fixed AC and DC power options. Each switch has 4 1GE SFP (Small
Form factor Pluggable) ports and two RJ-45 copper Ethernet ports. All the variants support power
redundancy using an external AC-DC power adapter.
