Repair Instructions

7.2 Cleaning and inspection

Clean component parts before assembling.
Replace the return spring/starter pulley and starter
cord, if necessary.
NOTE!
The return spring and starter pulley are
supplied pre-assembled and are fitted in
the starter housing as a single unit.
Exercise care when opening the packaging
so that the spring does not fly out.

7.3 Assembling the starter

1
Push the starter cord through the starter pulley's
track and secure it with a knot. Make sure the knot
is small. See figure 5.
Place the pressure equallization spring in position
so that the u-shaped spring end is inserted in the
starter pulley. Rotate the spring clockwise to secure
it.
2
Wind the new starter cord 3 turns anticlockwise
around the starter pulley, and then out through the
cord guide in the starter cover.
Lubricate the bearing pin with some grease and
place the starter in position in the starter cover.
See figure 6.
3
Assemble the starter handle.
Tie a double knot and fold under the free end.
Pull the knot fully into the handle. See figure 7.
4
Place the drive disc over the pressure equalization
spring. Fit the screw. See figure 8.
