Controls
Detach the cable from the reinforcing
triangle on the gearbox.

1. Remove the screw and the washer (A).
2. Lift off the lever arm (B) and the
spring (C).
Note the position of the spring!

Remove the covers over the rear axle
so that the drive control cable becomes
accessible.
Remove the cover over the belt pulley and
the drive belt.
Clamp the barbs together on the nipples
using a pair of fl at nosed pliers and detach
the cable from the reinforcing triangle.
Alternative:
Dismantle the reinforcing triangle from the
cutting cover by removing both screws
from underneath.
3. Remove the bracket holding the con-
trols against the handlebar.
4. Remove the screw (D) and the
cover (E). Note that the cover has a
snap-on fastening by the arrow.
5. Remove the spring (F) and note its
position.
6. Prize off the cover (G) using a screw-
driver.
7. Turn the knob (H) clockwise as far as
it will go causing the cable to be pulled
all the way out of its housing.
8. Then turn the knob anti-clockwise as
far as it will go.
Now the cable holder (I) is released
from the control and the cable can be
removed.
See chapter entitled "Handlebar" for infor-
mation on replacing cables.
Assemble all the components in the
reverse order as set out for dismantling.
Remove the 5 screws (A) and remove the
mounting plate (B) holding the control (C)
to the handlebar.
The screw by the arrow in the illustration
only needs to be taken out if the control
needs to be removed in order to replace
control cables, for example.
Remove the control.
