Wheels and drive system
Assembly
Assemble in the reverse order as set out
for dismantling.

Height control lock,
LC48 e, LC53 e
Dismantle the outer cover and the pressure
control.
Assembly
Assemble in the reverse order as set out
for dismantling.
Note the following:
1. First put together the gearbox, nuts
and rear axle (see illustration above).
2. Connect the belt adjuster (drive) cable
and position the rear axle in the cutting
cover.
NOTE!
Make sure the lever arm is on top of
the metal plate!
3. Push the left wheel link onto the axle
and screw the nut loosely into place.
4. Connect the height control connecting
rod to the rear wheel.
5. Fit the upper wheel link and tighten the
nuts on both links.
6. Attach the height control connecting
rod to the front wheel.
7. Fit the cogwheels.
8. Pull the drive belt into place on the belt
pulley and fi t the recoil spring.
9. Fit the protective cover over the belt
pulley, the wheel and the other remain-
ing parts.

Replacing the drive belt

1. Remove the cover over the rear axle
and the gearbox.
2. Remove the cover over the belt pulley
on the gearbox.
3. Remove the blade clutch and the belt
guide (see chapter entitled "Engine").
4. Remove the belt guide. Pull the belt off
the belt pulley.
5. Fit a new belt.
6. Check the belt tension. When the drive
is engaged the deck belt pulley/belt
should be horizontal.
Make any adjustments using the
adjustment screw by the control on the
handlebar.
Assemble the other components in the
reverse order as set out for dismantling.
Height control lock,

The lock becomes accessible once the
outer cover and the pressure control are
dismantled in order to replace the spring
for example.
