6. Remove the starter pulley. The recoil spring is in the
starter housing.
WARNING: Be very careful when you
remove the starter pulley. The recoil spring
can eject and cause injury to you.
7. Remove the recoil spring from the starter housing.
7.4.2 To assemble the starter
1. Put the recoil spring in the starter housing and hold it
down with your thumb.
WARNING: Use eye protective glasses. The
recoil spring can eject and cause injury. The
recoil spring is supplied with a steel wire
and a plastic package. Open the plastic
package carefully to prevent injury.
2. Make sure that the catch of the spring is aligned with
the groove (A).
3. Use a screwdriver to push the spring into the groove
in the starter housing and remove the steel wire.

4. Attach a new starter rope to the starter pulley. Make
a small knot and make sure that it can be put into
the notch in the pulley.
5. Attach the recoil spring and the starter pulley driver
to the starter pulley.
6. Attach the screw to the pulley and tighten the screw
to the correct torque.
7. Pull the starter rope through the handle. Do a double
knot on the starter rope and pull it into the handle.
