5 Hydraulic connection:

5.1 Heating connection

The water and pressure in the system is to be reg-
ularly monitored by the system operator and ad-
justed if the pressure is too high or too low. The
flow rates in the heat system are monitored by the
integrated flow sensor. Furthermore, the specified
system service intervals as well as the system
checks must be adhered to.
If, during larger reconstruction work or after burst
piping the majority of the water in the heating sys-
tem has to be drained off and refilled, this must be
carried out in the presence of the OCHSNER works
customer service / OCHSNER authorised partner
(see Logbook) If exceptional refilling work is to be
carried out (e.g. reconstruction work or after burst
piping), a current water test report is to be made
and, if necessary, using this report, additives must
be used when refilling the heating system.

5.2 Properties of the water

The VDI 2035 resp. ÖNORM H5195-1 and 2 are to
be observed with respect to the properties and
quantities of heating system water, incl. filling and
topping up water.
In order to prevent damage due to scaling, the
hardness of the water must be tested before filling
the heating system. The total hardness of the wa-
ter must be:
4.0...8.5° dH at a pH-value from 7 to 9
The water must be softened if this value is ex-
ceeded. Desalinated water or rainwater must not
be used as this leads to increased corrosion.
Please observe!
Unsuitable filling or topping up water
gives rise to sedimentation and corro-
sion and can lead to system damage.

5.3 Pressure maintenance system

The primary pressure in the expansion vessel must
be checked before filling the system. This must be
adjusted to the height of the building. Static
height: Difference between the highest and lowest
points of the system.
Bench-mark value:
Primary pressure = static pressure + 0.3 bar.
Max. permissible operating pressure: 2.6 bar. Se-
lect a safety valve of 3.0 bar.
See ENISO 4126-1:2013-10-15 Part 1: Safety valves
A sufficient sizing of the hydraulic
safety and pressure maintenance
equipment is necessary for the opera-
tional safety of the system. An annual
control according to the Standards
must take place.
The installation of the appliances may
only be carried out by a specialist ac-
cording to
local regulations and codes of practice.
All heat pump connections are to be
mounted in a flexible fashion. Avoid vi-
bration transmission bridges when in-
stalling pipework. The pipework sizing
as well as the choice of circulation
pump is dependent on the relevant
heating system.

5.3.1 Cooling version

All cooling system components (pipework, fittings)
must be insulated against condensed water using
suitable non-permeable insulation material. This is
to be taken into consideration even more for flow
pipework from the heat pump to the buffer tank.
