Blank search

D
This function locates the non-recorded portions of the
tape.
In the stop mode, press [BLANK] on the Remote.
● The VCR begins to search and
goes into the stop mode when
a non-recorded portion is
reached.
● During a blank search,
"BLANK SEARCH" is
displayed on the TV screen
and from the tape remaining
time displayed on the screen,
the allowable recording time
can be determined.
To stop blank search, press [STOP ( 7 )] on the Remote.
NOTES:
● Set "SUPERIMPOSE" to "ON" (
● Before starting to record, playback the tape to double-check
the non-recorded portion for recording.

When "SUPERIMPOSE" is set to "ON" (
can see the current VCR status on the TV screen.
● For more detailed information about the on-screen
display, see page 59.

Display VCR status on TV screen
During recording or
recording pause, press
[OSD] on the Remote.
All indications
corresponding to the
current VCR status are
displayed for 5 seconds.
The time counter remains
on the screen indicating the elapsed time.
● The indications are not recorded.

Exit on-screen display
Press [OSD] again.
NOTES:
● The subtitles will not appear while the on-screen display is
displayed.
● If the VCR is in recording pause mode, "RECORD PAUSE" is
always displayed on the TV screen.
● The VCR status can be also displayed during playback.
● Even if "SUPERIMPOSE" is set to "OFF" (
screen display appears when the VCR plays back the blank
portion of a tape and when the VCR receives the channel
which has no broadcast. However, on-screen display does not
appear when the input location is selected and no signal is
input.
